This board is to have a friendly debate. Maybe you are an Old Earth position and you want to debate someone that is for the Young Earth position. Anything that is Evolution/Creation related topics, this is where it goes. There are some rules to start a debate.
1) When starting a debate, post something like "Old Earth vs Young Earth Debate" in the Title with your position first.
2) This will be 1 on 1 debate, so when someone takes the opposite side, no one but the two may post. Anyone can view the board, but only the two can post.
3) No bumping required or necessary.
4) You two will take turns posting. When you post, it is the other person to post, then vise versa.
When having the debate, please try to keep to the following format for both sides:
1) Opening Statement and Position. You may give a brief introduction on your belief and how you came to your belief. Please, try to keep it from 500 - 1,500 words for the opening statement and the position that you had taken.
2) First proposition constructive. This speaker makes a case for the motion for debate, providing a proof of the topic with three or four major points. Please keep it at a minimum of 500 words.
3) First opposition constructive. This speaker makes several arguments against the proposition team’s case and refutes the proposition’s major points. Please keep it at a minimum of 500 words.
4) Second proposition constructive. This speaker should rebuild and extend upon the proposition’s case. This means that this speaker must defend and amplify the original proposition points and refute the opposition’s major arguments. Please keep it at a minimum of 500 words.
5) Second opposition constructive. This speaker amplifies the opposition arguments against the case, providing new information about why the opposition team should win the debate. This speaker should answer the proposition’s answers to the opposition team’s original arguments. This speaker may split summarization of the debate with the opposition rebuttalist. Please keep it at a minimum of 500 words.
6) Opposition rebuttal. This speaker must put the debate together and explain why, given one or more arguments in the debate, the opposition team should win the debate. This speaker accounts for or refutes the proposition’s major points. Please keep it at a minimum of 500 words.
7) Proposition rebuttal. This speaker should summarize the issues in the debate and explain why, even with the opposition’s arguments, the proposition teams should win the debate. This speaker accounts for all remaining major points of the opposition team. Please keep it at a minimum of 500 words.
8) Closing Statements. Both sides will end with closing statements of the debate. Please keep it at a minimum of 500 words.
